Many might knot know that Kate Middleton almost gave her firstborn, Prince George, a totally different name, but changed it at the last moment.
As a royal expert Katie Nicholl said, Prince William and Kate Middleton were planning on naming their son Alexander, but instead, they called him George. In the end, Alexander was given as his middle name.
According to the E! News, the reporter wrote the following: “Courtiers insisted the pair had not found out the sex of their unborn baby, and friends close to the couple claim William wanted a surprise.”
“Although Kate apparently suspected it was a boy and had set her heart on the name Alexander, they had not yet decided what to call their firstborn,” the reporter added.
In the last moment, Kate decided to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II’s father, King George VI, and name her firstborn after him. His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge.
