After being criticized for wearing blackface on 2000 SNL sketch, impersonating Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon deeply apologizes and says it was a bad decision to make a mistake like that.
The Tonight Show host sent an apology to anyone who thinks the sketch was rude or those who took it offensively.
“In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface,” he tweeted this Tuesday.
In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface. There is no excuse for this.
I am very sorry for making this unquestionably offensive decision and thank all of you for holding me accountable.

Twenty years after the SNL sketch aired, Jimmy realized that he made a terrible mistake, and felt the urge to deeply apologize to everyone who felt attacked.
Many fans shared their opinion, saying that he didn’t have to apologize for something that was long ago, and in different times.
