Illenium 2016

Illenium is one name in bass music that has been steadily been making a name for himself as King of the melodic remix, taking on already huge tracks like Kaskade\’s Disarm You, Chainsmoker\’s Don\’t Let Me Down and perfecting them to be even better than their originals. So when he announced his Illenium moniker as one of the official remixers for Flume’s sophomore album Skin, Nick Miller knows he has some big shoes to fill. A responsibility he surely does not take lightly, either.

Illenium took to Facebook yesterday to announce the remix will be released next Tuesday, September 6. This time, the Denver-based producer takes on “Say It” ft. Tove Lo. Immediately with this remix, we are jolted into Illenium\’s world on the first bar of the song, and then brought even deeper inside when he introduces his signature synths on the breakdowns, in which he replaces Flume\’s oh-so unmistakable sound, so as to distinguish their two styles. This one seems to be mostly untouched by Illenium on the whole, leaving Tove Lo\’s vocals as the focal point of the track. Of course, we will have to wait until next week for the finished product.

Watch the below clip of Illenium performing a (most likely) working version of \”Say It\” at Lollapalooza, before transitioning into his “Don’t Let Me Down” remix. We can\’t wait to hear the mastered track on Tuesday! I\’ll go out on a limb here and say it\’s perfect.
