Long ago, in the dank age known as the 90s, three French musicians were thrown together by destiny to form a the rock band Darlin\’. After a review of their first EP dubbed it as \”daft punky thrash\”, the band disbanded with one member going on to form an indie pop band named after a burning bird, leaving the other two to their own devices. These two guys eventually found themselves thrown in the middle of the rave and French House scene. Unwilling to let their creative spirits die, they kept on making music and pushin\’ those demo tapes until finally they got discovered, and the rest is history.

Daft Punk, whether you like them or not, has changed the game when it comes not only to EDM, but music in general. They\’ve molded and morphed multiple influences and brought their brand to the international stage on the level of house names like Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Yeezy, blessed be his name. But even recognizing where they are now and the hype on where they are about to take us, we have to remember where they came from, and recognize that unlike so many out there, their reason for doing what they do can be soon now just as clearly as it can be seen then. Looking at their primordial days, the passion and emotion thrown into their craft is ever evident despite the potato like quality of these portals into history.

I\’ve collected a few throwback videos of the iconic duo from before they really exploded into a time before the helmets, before the 80s throwback anime, before the leather. Because underneath all of that, you see can see what music is all about, the drive and the passion to share your art with anyone and everyone.
