In a new video posted to Facebook, DJ and producer Steve Aoki has announced all of his shows from May 25 through June 1st will be cancelled due to an emergency surgery the artist needs to have on his vocal chords. In the video embedded below, Aoki describes that he has been damaging his vocal chords for about 20 years. Because of this, there has been a node that has been growing and hardening within the chord and can cause irrefutable damage if not treated immediately. Aoki states that he will need to have this surgery, or he may no longer be able to talk and can risk losing his voice. Luckily, Aoki will only be missing 5 shows within that duration of time, but here\’s what they are:

MAY 25 – Aoki\’s Playhouse – Ibiza, Spain – Now: Fatboy Slim, Galantis, Danny Wade & Taao Kross
MAY 30 – Emporium Festival – Wijchen, Netherlands
MAY 31 – We Are Fstvl – Upminster, United Kingdom
May 31 – Northern Lights – Newscastle, United Kingdom
June 1 – Aoki\’s Playhouse – Ibiza, Spain – Now: W&W, Sander van Doorn & Caked Up

You can hear Aoki talk about it in-depth, as well as see a photo of his vocal chords in the video below:
