Star Slinger has been pushing the boundaries of hip hop, electronica, chill trap and downtempo since 2010, and his latest project is no exception. The Manchester based OWSLA mastermind, determined to not just put out both a 4 song EP in January and 14 track LP in May, has decided to grace us with yet another compilation of atmospheric and groovy tracks. We Could Be More is a sonic journey, from D∆WN\’s fluttering and commending vocals in the intro track, to James Vincent McMorrow\’s soothing serenade over top the groovy and house-esque production in Slow Love and the more old school classic piano and beat sampling with soulful lyricism from Tunji Ige in the finale track Pardon. If you haven\’t yet heard of Star Slinger and are looking for a hybrid of EDM tendencies with old school hip hop sampling, I would say We Could Be More is an amazing starting place, as well as a must listen for current fans of Darren.
