We first caught a glimpse of the young SMIIRK when he won the North Coast Talent Search competition at the age of 15, and he\’s still chasing the dream. This local artist, now 16 has continued producing and DJing steadily over the past year, most recently releasing a new Future Bass original entitled \”Bliss\”.
Initially this track was supposed to be a remix, SMIIRK tells us, but after copyright problems on Soundcloud, he decided to repurpose it as his own original track. This track along with several of his other productions over the past few months, definitely lands more on the melodic spectrum of EDM compared to some of his older high-energy electro-house. I decided to ask him more about this new direction:
Well, I can tell you this… SMIIRK is something that can range in various directions. Right now, I have found a love for making music with feelings as Ive always wanted to do. This new future bass/chill trap style Ive been heading towards is very gentle but also at the same time can still have a heavy impact within the drop. I dont want to define myself into anything just yet… I just want to give out the emotions to people around the world that music gives to me. I hope you enjoy all this new music I have in store for SMIIRK…
