Following up on an incredible ABGT100 performance, 24 year-old producer Mat Zo has put up a new track on his SoundCloud page; this one\’s on the heavier side of his work.

After his debut album \”Damage Control\” in 2013, we could easily see that Zo was interested in creating fresh, genre-less music and taking a slight step away from being a master in the Progressive scene. He collaborated with Kill The Noise as the two toured together and worked on music; it seems that KTN rubbed off on Zo a little.

\”Ruffneck Bad Boy\” is everything you wouldn\’t expect from Zo and that\’s what makes it so epic. It starts off as a very mellow, guitar-filled tune then quickly jumps into a heavy-hitting dubstep/hip-hop fusion. Zo genuinely being a good producer is shown throughout this track; the growling bass almost resembles a rocking metal bass and the main portion of the track is accompanied with an Arabian-sounding background synth. Although I do miss his masterful Progressive tunes like \”Rebound,\” I don\’t mind hearing Zo put out tracks like these. Keep em coming, Mat.

Be on the lookout for this one, which will be released on November 24th on Zo\’s new label Mad Zoo. Also coming from his label is a winter tour, featuring the man himself. Thankfully, Zo will kick his tour off in Chicago, so mark it on your calenders.

Get down with Mat Zo on Wednesday, November 26th just before the Thanksgiving holiday; burn off a few calories by grooving before the big feast.
