Disclosure\’s new album Caracal will drop September 25 and we now have our third taste after “Moving Mountains” debuted on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show.

Moving Mountains is easily the best and most complicated single so far, featuring two simultaneous musical progressions paired with R&B-style singing by British singer Brendan Reilly. The song\’s beginning invokes feelings of a better produced calming mid-90s R&B song. The well produced synth slowly increases volume relative to Mr. Reilly, building to an inescapable feeling of a man singing through multiple layers of sexily produced musical fog.

Moving Mountains still lacks the crisp pace frequently found in big hits, but Disclosure finally returned to interesting lyrics paired with multiple layers of musical progressions. Moving Mountains is a solid song and goes a long-way to addressing my fears created by the comparative simplicity of the single-layer generic house sound of their first two singles. This is the first Caracal single that matches the tone of Disclosure\’s first album.
