Billboard Dance revealed David Guetta signed with Scooter Braun\’s management company SB Projects. Braun is famous for discovering and promoting Justin Bieber and his business ventures with Usher, real name Raymond Brown. Although Guetta is one of EDM\’s most successful and ubiquitous hit-makers, he has suffered criticism of being too mainstream. Signing with the man behind Bieber\’s success will perhaps fuel this more, but it is a wise business deal for Guetta.

From 2009\’s legendary \”When Love Takes Over\” to 2012\’s \”Turn Me On\” Guetta enjoyed commercial success in America. After a brief lag, he recently revived this with \”Hey Mama\” in 2015, which is probably why he\’s enlisted Nicki Minaj to appear on his next single from his forthcoming seventh album. Guetta is still massively famous in his native France, and continues his \”Fuck Me I\’m Famous\” residency at Ibiza\’s iconic dance club Pacha.

Other artists on Braun\’s roster include Ariana Grande and DJ Mag\’s top DJ, Martin Garrix. Braun also manages one-hit-wonders like Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen. Guetta epitomizes the success of European house producers that dominated the genre in the first half of this decade. In case you too think he is too generic, re-listen to \”When Love Takes Over\” and you\’ll recall his genius.
