Stratus is always proving himself as one of the best in Chicago\’s bass music scene.

Big Blood, his newest EP, has just been released on Impossible Records, a label founded by KJ Sawka of Destroid and Pendulum fame. He\’s had previous releases on SMOG and Ultra Records, among others.

The Chicago native brings us three new songs with the ridiculous energy he\’s known for. My favorite song on the EP is the opening track \”Hit It,\” a heavy dubstep track. \”Big Blood\” is similar, while \”My Energy\” has a different, more futuristic vibe.

Stratus was one of the first EDM artists I listened to, falling in love with his remix of Krewella\’s \”Killin\’ It\” and \”Jasper\’s Theme Pt. 2.\” Several years later, Stratus is still making similar sounding, high quality tracks. I\’m sure he\’ll be doing the same thing a few years down the road.

Listen to \”Hit It\” below and download the EP on Beatport or iTunes.
