November Artist Spotlight: Xonic, D2A, Zander and Nikho

This month we have an extra special artist feature lined up as we are not only highlighting one Chicago artist, but four of them. Each artists brings different creative direction and experience to this month\’s artist feature, but each one is worth taking a look at.

Previously working under the moniker Hannibelectro, D2A aka Brian Rosin, has been writing, performing, and producing in the music industry for more than 15 years. As an artist he has performed over 3,500 shows all over the United States. He was one of the original DJs on www.myhouseyourhouse.net for its first three and a half years of broadcast. D2A has worked with major labels such as Sony ATV and Universal Republic, as well as independent electronic labels like NOSALADRECORDS on both the live and production sides of the electronic industry. Under the name Hannibelectro, he held a residency at the infamous Zentra nightclub opening for Green Velvet, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter and more. D2A has also opened for fun. at the House of Blues Chicago, AFI at Summerfest Milwaukee, Lazy Rich at Bass City Oasis Michigan and Semi-Precious Weapons at PornNChicken at the Evil Olive, Chicago.

NIKHO

From the age of 14, Robert Nikho has immersed and dedicated his life to the art of music. Diving into the industry in the form of DJing, he quickly taught himself the ropes through trial and error. While he had started out small by simply playing for friends at house parties, he quickly found himself getting booked at college frat parties and then followed by clubs all over the city of Chicago. And before long, he found himself playing at festivals that included international artists such as Lazy Rich and Hatiras. But being unable to ignore the beats and melodies running through his own head, he began producing his own original tracks which have been featured on numerous blog sites such as Fist Pump The World and Everything Looks Brighter. Currently, he is signed under the national talent management firm K. Ashton Management and is also affiliated with United2nite/House. Music Saved My Life.

Bio: Northwestern grad / former NFL player reborn as producer/DJ Xonic. Xonic is a 2014 Electric Forest, 2014/2013 Spring Awakening Fest (main stage), 2013 North Coast Fest, & 2013 Wavefront Fest artist and a current resident at the Century Room/the Mid, Vertigo Sky Lounge & Lunatics of Bam. Xonic\’s skills on the decks and in the studio have led him to be chosen to support and/or share a bill with top acts such as: Alesso, Tommy Trash, Afrojack, Krewella, 3lau, Sidney Samson, Porter Robinson, Nervo, Hardwell, R3hab, Zedd, The Chainsmokers, Cash Cash, Hard Rock Sofa, Mord Fustang, Uberjakd, Autoerotique, Zebo, Inphinity, Kalendr, Tony Arzadon, Milk N Cookies, Shermanology, Jordan V, Trentino, Stellar, Orville Kline, Midnight Conspiracy, Dante, Steve Smooth, D2A, Positive Vibr8tions, & Swggrbck.Performance resume encompasses the top-tier of Chicago nightlife (the Mid, Spybar, Dolphin, Rooftop at the Wit, Sound-bar, Congress Theater, Bodi, Bull & Bear, Bevy, NV Penthouse, the Century Room at the Mid, Enclave, Prohibit, Red Ivy, Y Bar, Fedora Lounge, Stay, Proof, Vertigo Sky Lounge, Polekatz, and Estate Ultrabar.) Zander

Moving to Chicago from Europe, Aleks Zander found his passion for music at a young age when it was the only thing he could relate to in a place where he didn’t know the language or have many friends. Going back and forth from Europe to America allowed him to grow a well-rounded taste for music of all sorts. Zander was in a band throughout middle school as a drummer but later on found his true passion was in electronic music after seeing trance group Above & Beyond for his first time. Despite his relatively young age, Zander can be seen playing at Chicago’s top tier clubs such as, Sound-Bar, Castle / Palladium, The MID, Dolphin, Bodi, Estate Ultrabar, Fedora Lounge, NV Penthouse, and the iconic Spybar. His resume includes performances at F.A.R.M Fest in New Jersey, Grid Life Fest in Michigan, Skyway Theatre in Minneapolis, Northcoast Music Festival after-party at the Portage Theater, and a NYE set at The Rave in Milwaukee. Aleks Zander has opened / played support for artists such as Fedde Le Grand, Emma Hewwit, AN21, Max Vangeli, Adventure Club, Henry Fong, Overwerk, Qulinez, Third Party, Uberjakd, Candyland, Zomboy, Au5, Heatbeat, Liquid Stranger, Julian Jordan, Auterotique, Trentino, Xonic, Animale, & many more.
