UPDATE: The US Coast Guard has confirmed the identity of the passenger who went overboard, and has been identified as 24-year-old Kaylyn Rose Sommer of Charleston, South Carolina. 


 

The 2015 Mad Decent Boat Party headed for Cozumel this year, has officially been cancelled and the boat will be returning to Miami shortly. Reportedly, late last night a women had fallen, or jumped, off of the boat, causing an immediate suspension of all activities onboard and the immediate deployment of rescue boats, with assistance from local coast guards.

The woman, who reportedly jumped on purpose, is still missing – so the captain made the announcement early Friday morning that the boat would be turning around. There\’s no word if the search is still ongoing. However, all artists that were scheduled to perform at Cozumel will be performing on the return trip to Miami.

Thursday, November 12 during the chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel.  The ship’s crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time.
