After a peculiar trailer to his forthcoming album Lantern, Hudson Mohawke delivers the first taste of the record with the song \”Very First Breath.\” The producer\’s notorious style is a prominent theme in this tune but avoids feeling stale with a powerful melody and some refreshing vocals from Irfane. Whether or not this song is representative of the rest of the album is still hard to tell, but fans can at least take a little comfort in the fact that the Hudson Mohawke we know and love will still be the foundation of this record.
