Canadian trio Keys N Krates have had quite a busy year. While dominating the festival scene with their unmatched live performances, these boys have also found the time to release their fourth EP, \”Every Night\”, in September on Dim Mak Records. Now right in the middle of their massive North American tour, they\’ve released a 5 track remix EP showcasing genre-defying flips from their friends and supporting artists.

Chris Lorenzo leads the batting order with a deep house inspired, minimal re-work of \”Understand Why\”. Darq E Freaker\’s take on \”Hypnotik\” takes the original to the next level with enormous synths and an anthemic rhythm. If your deep house fix isn\’t quite satisfied yet, you\’ll be pleased by Taiki Nulight\’s dark and brooding remix of \”She\’s So High\”.

My clear favorite is Machinedrum\’s remix of \”Are We Faded\”. What begins as an energetic and fast-paced beat cascades into a beautiful, melodic breakdown with folky, acoustic instruments alongside KNK\’s classic vocals. It finishes with a minimal, almost Jersey Club-inspired beat that makes me completely rethink the original layout. It also acts as the perfect transition to R3ll\’s take on \”Your Love\”, a straight forward and clean Jersey track with a killer ending.
