What do Cher, Green Day, and Kaskade have in common? The same record label.

Billboard has officially announced Kaskade\’s first move of 2015: signing with Warner Bros. Records.

Amidst the stream of dance music artists signing to major labels, Ryan Raddon joined the WB team with the a two-album contract and the goal to maintain enough control over his production, which seems to be a mutual agreement between the DJ and WB CEO Cameron Strang. Kaskade was described as \”a perfect fit\” for the record label and it is undoubtedly an exciting moment in the artist\’s career.

\”To me, it was about continuing what I\’m doing but getting my music to more people,\” says Raddon.

The house icon says there will be new music out this year for sure even though an album has yet to be completed, but there will be \”exploring\” of possible radio hits.

While this may be news to keep you anxious for Kaskade\’s future in music, it\’s definitely worth watching out for to see how it rolls out in the next year, and with the trends in dance music, the move may be nothing short of appropriate.

\”I think where I\’m at in my career coincides with where peoples\’ ears are at right now with electronic music. The sound has matured, and I\’ve matured, and people are ready for that next layer, something deeper. I\’ve always kind of been in that space, but I\’m really trying to pushing myself forward there. It doesn\’t have to be bubblegum for people to enjoy it. So much of dance music up until now has been that and it\’s a shame. There\’s so much more out there. The good news is I think people are finally ready to hear it. They\’ve scratched beneath the surface of what this electronic music thing is and they\’re ready for what\’s next. I\’m going to give it to them.\”
