After more than a decade of laying low and releasing virtually no new music, one of electronic music’s most influential artists Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin, broke his musical hiatus and announced the release a sixth full length studio album titled \’Syro\’ last month. Earlier this week, Warp Records released the first single off the highly anticipated album- an ambient tune entitled \”minipops 67 [120.2][source field mix]\”. A bit more melodic than Aphex Twin\’s older tracks, \”mini pops 67\” illustrates how James has mastered the art of making music and is a very much needed breath of fresh air in the electronic music scene.
