$6K Stolen from Electric Zoo Festival-Goers

Police reported that New York’s Electric Zoo was targeted by thieves who stole more than $6,000 in property during the event. The festival was held on Randall’s Island this past Labor Day weekend between September 2nd and 4th.

Between the first and second day, police reported at least ten festival attendees being pick pocketed and assaulted.

In one incident on Sept. 3 at 9:05 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was dancing at the festival when she noticed a man digging in her purse. When she confronted the man he hit her on her arm and fled the scene. The man was described as 25 years old, 5-foot-8. He ran away with $1,170 worth of belongings, including an iPhone, $20 in cash and several debit and credit cards, police said.

There are yet to be any arrests for the incidents that occurred this past weekend.
