The biggest headline yesterday was undoubtedly the announcement of the separation between Martin Garrix, and label Spinnin\’ Records. Yesterday, Martin released a statement essentially stating that the contracts between him, Spinnin\’, and his management did not work out the way he wanted – and that there were issues with the \”reasonableness\” and the ownership of Garrix\’s music. However, today Spinnin\’ sent a statement of their own to the press, in which they share a different story, yet corroborate that the \”highly successful\” relationship has in fact ended. Despite Garrix\’s initial statement that there were issues within the contract, Spinnin\’ states that they were \”plainly willing to meet [Martin\’s] wishes to negotiate the current agreements in his favor\”, and also \”confirmed transfer of ownership\”, but that Martin was the one to end the \”cooperation\” at this time.

Spinnin\’ then goes onto say how much of a success Garrix was, not only in the industry, but to them as well. Garrix was undoubtedly their largest mainstream signed artist, and their greatest asset. While Garrix has left Spinnin\’ and MusicAllStars, he also shares a contract with Scooter Braun\’s SB Projects, who of course also manages Justin Bieber, so we think Garrix will do just fine. Check out a copy of the press release obtained by EDM Chicago below.
