The prominence of drugs and a corresponding presence of law enforcement is a standard formula for music festivals nowadays.

A good portion of attendees usually smuggle drugs and paraphernalia in to festival grounds, but not before making it past the line of legal officiaries who are on ALERT for that exact reason.

That said, the Okeechobee County Sheriff\’s Office had quite the outing last weekend at Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival.

The Sheriff\’s Office released a statement saying that festival attendees were warned that prior to entering the premises they will be searched by K-9 units. Amnesty boxes were found have to been placed thoroughly near the gates so that attendees could voluntarily discard any illegal substances before being checked.

The results?

K-9 officers managed to confiscate a ridiculous amount of drugs that include but are not limited to: 6 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, 150 hits of LSD, 100 hits of ecstasy, 150 paraphernalia items (pipes, bongs, grinders), 14 grams of cocaine HCI, 12 grams of meth, and 1/2 ounce of mushrooms.

Crazy, right?

But that\’s not all, as the list goes on with various prescription medication such as Xanax and Oxycodone. So perhaps it isn\’t too much of a surprise that 21 individuals were arrested over the course of the four days. Whether that is proportionate to the findings is unknown, but one thing is for certain.

The Okeechobee County Law Enforcement does not mess around.

\”We welcome anyone that travels to Okeechobee for the music fest and encourage them to enjoy the festival, however we will do all we can to eliminate as many drugs coming into Okeechobee County.\”

Take a look at what they confiscated below.
