More and more American festivals having been expanding beyond our borders in recent years. Ultra Music Festival puts on events all over the world including places like Bangkok, Manila, Bali, and Macau. Insomniac\’s Electric Daisy Carnival has made its way to London, Mexico City, and Puerto Rico, but what do those two festivals have in common? They are centered around electronic music.

One of the reasons EDM based festivals are popping up all over the place is due to how relatively cheap they are to set up. Find a space, build a stage with a solid sound system and throw a set of CDJ\’s up there and you have an electronic festival.

The only American festival that is brave enough to take the full music experience overseas is Lollapalooza. In the past Lollapalooza has taken their live bands and DJs to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and for its inaugural event in Europe, Berlin.

Now as their flagship weekend in Chicago approaches, those in charge of Lolla have taken the opportunity to announce yet another South American venture in Bogata, Colombia. Dates and lineup will be released at a later time, but to stay as up-to-date as possible, go to Lollapalooza\’s official website.
