The beginning of spring can only mean one thing: we\’re that much closer to another summer full of memories made at music festivals.

As we patiently wait for summer, we find ourselves continuously checking absolutely everywhere for lineup leaks and news. Whether it\’s awaiting to find out if your favorite artist is playing this year, or trying to snag some cheap tickets that sell out in seconds, Lollapalooza always has a hectic pre-festival experience.  As we get closer to next week\’s lineup and ticket announcement, some headliners have been confirmed; according to the Chicago Tribune, various industry sources have confirmed that Skrillex, Eminem, Arctic Monkeys, and Kings of Leon are to headline the festival.

As the dance music scene continues to grow in popularity and funding, it has clearly been shown regarding each year\’s lineup for Lollapalooza; more dance artists are being featured each year. Last year, names including Steve Angello and Knife Party rocked the dance-dedicated Perry\’s stage. This year, we are teased with Skrillex being one of the headliners.

If this leakage is true, Skrillex will have played Lolla for 4 years in a row. Last year, Sonny did not perform under the Skrillex name; he instead played as Dog Blood, a collaborative side project with Boys Noize. Skrillex can easily be recognized as one of the pioneers in the newer dance music movement and it\’s definitely nice to see him return to Chicago for another amazing summer. Him headlining such a huge event is a showing to all outsiders that dance music is here to stay.

This mammoth of a festival will take place in Grant Park on August 1-3, 2014. Start ritually checking your computers next week for more info on the official lineup and ticket dates.
