Who would have thought that after all this time Deadmau5 and his notoriously vicious twitting methods could’ve been unprovoked? In a recent interview with Joe Madden from NME, Deadmau5 shares how people talk to him via twitter, how he nearly killed a crazed fan during a show, how he wants to be portrayed, and more. He tells NME, “I do all my own s**t – Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter – and I see everything, every weird private message from every random psycho. I’m not !shielded from anything,” and all that he is exposed to is quite startling. Everything from fans idolizing him to death threats and rape accusations are enough to make everyone a little uneasy.

Joel, “Deadmau5” Zimmerman obviously doesn’t care how he\’s perceived and just wants to be left alone. He also has a “huge anxiety disorder” and that “Going out and being nice to the world at large doesn’t make me feel good so I replace that with things, with technology..”

Deadmau5 also told NME the routine weirdness he experiences while dealing with all of his social media. “I do get freaked out sometimes. I have kids hop my fence, get into my back yard and just start screaming at me. I get chicks on Instagram saying that I raped them and that they’re calling their lawyer. I do all my own s**t – Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter – and I see everything, every weird private message from every random psycho.”

Fame attracts the likes of all people – ‘random psycho’ or not – the spotlight is constantly drawing attention of the entire public. During a performance in which he was playing in a raised stage called, “The Cube” he tells the story of a crazed fan that actually ran on stage! He was apparently six feet in the air and could barely see because of his helmet, and his manager started yelling in his earpiece.

“I feel someone grabbing at my waist. This kid has somehow climbed up into the Cube. I just panic, I kick back at him, and he just drops and lands on his back – bang. And he’s motionless. I take off my helmet and look down, and for what felt like a looong time I’m like, ‘I just paralyzed or killed that kid.’” The kid then gets up and cheers to the crowd; talk about personal space.

Deadmau5 speaks his mind furiously on twitter and is known for not giving a single care for what anyone thinks. Stepping into the virtual ring going up against: Porter Robinson, Justin Bieber, Snooki, Skrillex, Kanye West, and the list goes on. You can read the entire interview here – it’s quite the conversation. Now that you\’ve heard the reasoning behind the actions of this \’twitter outlaw\’ can you understand the means to his methods or do you view him as a mean-hearted internet troll?
