Just months after the aging dance music pioneer was thrust back into the spotlight by Daft Punk, Giorgio Moroder has announced he will release his first solo studio album in 30 years through Sony/RCA

Billboard quoted Moroder on his partnership with Sony:

\”Sony/RCA constitutes one of the most groundbreaking histories in the world…As my new label, I believe my record will live up to their history, but more importantly, pave the way for the future! Sony from here to eternity.\”

To give us a small taste of what\’s to come with this album, Moroder has confirmed collaborations with such artists as Britney Spears and Sia, in addition to releasing the video for the album\’s first single, \”74 Is The New 24\”

This funky house track is filled with the computerized influences Daft Punk left behind while Moroder maintains his signature disco style that made Donna Summer a star.

Moroder had this to say about the track:

\”Dance music doesn’t care where you live,” Moroder said of the new track. “It doesn’t care who your friends are. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn\’t care if your 74 or if you are 24 because… 74 is the new 24!”
