Creating a greener planet includes adopting environmentally friendly habits in your everyday life. If you follow our 7 eco-friendly tips for life – you will contribute to the well-being of the planet and your family.

Adopting Eco-Friendly Habits Is Not Hard And It Means A Lot

Nature and environment preservation have become increasingly important issues – even in countries for which we cannot say that they are leaders in some eco-lifestyle. Becoming eco-friendly is not just an empty phrase but a way of life. If we don’t protect the nature we live in, we don’t protect our health either. So being “green” is way more than just recycling. Many of our everyday choices can help restore the balance of nature in various ways, but also further destroy it – and many of them directly affect your health. Keep in mind that adopting eco-friendly habits in life is not so hard – and yet it means a lot. We bring you some eco-friendly tips to help you become one of those people who care about the planet they live on – as well as for your health and the health of your family.

1. Do not eat meat one day a week

You wouldn’t believe it, but it takes 8 times more fuel to get animal protein than it takes for vegetable protein. In a figurative sense, you contribute 8 times more to the pollution of the Earth when you eat meat – than when you eat vegetables. And although not eating meat will not change anything – try to have at least one meatless day a week. If for nothing else, for yourself – because the world is changing starting with yourself and small things.

2. Ride a bike instead of a car

Cars will be used in the future, but the bicycle should play an even more important role in terms of mobility. If we want to achieve our climate goals and preserve the environment – then we truly need some changes in that way. Cars emit harmful gasses – and that’s nothing you didn’t already know. Therefore, instead of emitting strong carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides – go cycling! It requires only the energy of your muscles.

3. Use LED bulbs

LED bulbs are environmentally friendly and energy-efficient. LEDs are significantly more energy-efficient and durable than conventional types of lighting – and guarantee long-term savings. The LED bulb consumes very little electricity. With classic light bulbs, almost 90% of energy is lost, based on their thermal radiation – so 90% of pure energy goes just like that. On the other hand, heat loss with LEDs is negligible – and they are almost 80% more energy-efficient than conventional light bulbs. The bulbs have a small and compact shape and an incredibly long lifespan of 100,000 operating hours. So we have the double benefits – energy efficiency and savings for the household budget.

4. Life without plastic

Plastic is like a monster that has been burying and poisoning the planet since the 1950s – and recently the animal world, as well as the food we eat and the water we drink. Some modern research claims that we consume almost 5g of microplastics per week through water and food – which come from plastic waste in nature. According to,  it’s time for us to say NO to plastics and look for biodegradable solutions and start zero-waste living. For most of the plastic things we use every day, there are substitutes used by our grandparents – which are 100% degradable after we throw them away.

5. Cook in a dry cooker

Get yourself a dry cooker. Cooking in a dry cooker saves energy. Today, when most women are busy, fast cooking is becoming more modern. Putting all the groceries in just one pot, in addition to saving time and energy, is also healthier – because we will not eat some fast junk food at work. On the contrary, we can hardly wait to come home to eat something nice, tasty, warm, and freshly cooked. The dry cooker has a timer on which we set the time exactly when we want our meal to be cooked. There is no additional washing of other pots, which saves water. The dish is stewed in its juice and steamed. That is why today’s one-pot cooking is considered the cooking of the future.

6. Experiment with days without television and computers

Reduced television watching, but also the use of computers benefits your health, and also the planet. In addition to saving energy and your money, it makes you move. So instead of sitting back in front of the TV, you will be more active. Simply decide to introduce one day a week without television – and instead, take the time to walk, run, ride a bike, or simply enjoy nature.

7. Use environmentally friendly cleaning agents

Environmental products represent the future of cleaning – because very soon, only such products will be allowed on the market. That is why it is important to know which cleaning products are marked as eco-friendly, how to recognize them – and what are their advantages over the products that were previously used in the cleaning industry. Eco-friendly cleaning products are produced without harmful ingredients. They are usually made from plant raw materials, and bring a huge number of benefits. Not only do they not pollute water, air, soil, and the environment – but they also don’t contain ingredients that are aggressive to people in the professional cleaning industry who use them daily.

As you can see, it is not so hard to change just some of our daily life habits and do something good for nature and our environment. Eco-friendly life habits do not require us to make too many sacrifices and changes that we could not get used to. Also, you will feel way better when you adopt at least some of the things we have pointed out to you. We must work on our awareness of the importance of preserving the natural environment – but also of the fact that we are part of this planet that we need to preserve.
