The legendary London-based trance trio Above & Beyond are always hard at work.
To begin with, they run two successful labels. Anjunabeats, their main label, serves home to artists such as Mat Zo, Arty, Andrew Bayer, Ilan Bluestone, and many more. Their second label, Anjunadeep, is a Deep House genre-based label that has become almost as popular as their main one.
Other than their label, Above & Beyond host one of the most popular radio podcasts in the world. Above & Beyond\’s Group Therapy (#ABGT) is the perfect transmission for your weekly progressive house and trance needs. It airs from their website and also Digitally Imported Radio, live on Fridays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM (Central Standard Time, or Chicago time).
This week\’s Group Therapy was the 74th installment (#ABGT074) of the popular radio show and it was quite the special one. Firstly, the official announcement for the upcoming Group Therapy live show was put out. Every 50 shows, Above & Beyond take over a venue along with their label colleagues and spin for the whole day; this phenomenon is then aired for those who couldn\’t make it. Group Therapy 100 (#ABGT100) will take place in New York City at the Madison Square Garden on October 18, 2014. It is bound to be a spectacular show with all the Anjunabeats DJs and Above & Beyond themselves.
The Group Therapy Record of the Week this time was also a special one. Sticky Fingers is a new Above & Beyond track with vocals from Alex Vargas and it\’s a massive one. It\’s got great lyrics along with an amazing buildup to a beautiful drop; all the qualities of a great Progressive tune are present. There is no release date yet, but you can check it out on the radio show (it starts at around 15 minutes and 30 seconds).
This week\’s guest mix comes from Anjunabeats producer Audien. This young mastermind has taken the Progressive House scene by storm, drop after euphoric drop. He starts off the guest mix with his new track Hindsight, which is being released April 21st. Keep an eye out for this talented producer.
