Steve Angello, ex-member of legendary trio Swedish House Mafia, is currently facing allegations of fraud.
According to Swedish news outlet Expressen, Angello has been sought by the amount of 116 million [SEK] from a former business partner and an artist colleague.
Seeking a number that converts to approximately $13 million USD, the plaintiffs accused Angello of “fraud, broken business contract and crimes against property management”. The lawsuits further note that Angello’s actions were “deliberate and intentional, knowing that such behavior would damage the plaintiff”, and that the defendant constantly attempted to cover up his fraud through distorting and repeating information.
Additional claims brought to the case state that the artists’s colleague was promised a monthly salary as well as a five percent stake in the company.
Angello has responded to these allegations by declaring that the plaintiff’s case “lacks grounds and is a lot of fabrications and lies”. Angello maintained his stern opposition when he commented to Expressen, “I do not think about this. Had there been something serious, I [would have] been familiar with it. But I do not care. There are no grounds.”
Angello stated that he had already filed counterclaims against the suing parties, but as of November 1, the defendant has submitted no official statements to the Los Angeles court.
