David Guetta and Nicki Minaj recently performed in Las Vegas for the Billboard Music Awards. The stage featured a light-emitting, twelve sided object decorated beautifully on every side.

However, they are now being accused of stealing artwork regarding the stage design. Known as HYBYCOZO and designed by Yelena Filipchuk and Serge Beaulieuhe, the original piece premiered at Burning Man 2014. According the THUMP, the \”series of steel-wrought, laser-cut, light-emitting geometrical structures went on to become one of the most photographed installations in the festival world.\”

Filipchuk was contacted by several friends about Guetta\’s performance, asking if she helped with the stage design.

\”If they wanted this aesthetic they should have contacted us to discuss the options rather than [use] what appears to be a blatant rip off of our art without our permission,\” Filipchuk says.
